A Message from the Author herself:

Way Down in New Orleans…
By Leigh Talbert Moore
Setting was actually not the first thing in my mind when I started writing my new book Rouge. But it was a close second.

It was fall of 2010, my daughters were back in school, and I was sitting down after a long summer to get back to writing.

I’d written three contemporary YA books (one is what we now call “New Adult”), and I wanted to do something completely different. So I started listening to music, looking at pictures, daydreaming, and this idea stuck in my head…

What if there were these two orphaned girls and one was older, more like a protector of the younger one… And then the little one is threatened. How far would the older one go to keep her safe? What would she risk? What would she give up?

Once I’d sketched out all the scenarios in my head, I had to figure out where it should happen. Oliver Twist had sort-of inspired some of my thoughts, and it’s set in London. Then it hit me—New Orleans!

I’m a south Louisiana native and having spent a lot of time in the city, its European flair seemed just right. But even somewhere as decadent as “the Big Easy” wouldn’t allow the things that happen in my story to go unpunished. So I went back in time.

I decided a light historical, set in a theater-slash-brothel on a street like Bourbon Street, with lots of color and music… I love Moulin Rouge, which was set in Paris, so I thought maybe the owner of my theater could be taking cues from theirs (the swing coming down, etc.).

Ultimately, it was the only place it could’ve happened. New Orleans adds the darkness, the flavor, the heat. Something about it makes you think anything is possible. And I think were it anywhere else, the story wouldn’t sizzle in quite the same way.

Thanks for reading! I hope you guys love my book.

Cover Reveal: Crossfire by Laura Bradley Rede

Title: Crossfire (Darkride Chronicles, #2)
Author: Laura Bradley Rede
Genre: Paranormal Romance/ Young Adult
Cover Designer: Once Upon a Time Covers
Expected release date: January 2013
Links to find the book: www.darkridechronicles.com

Summary:
It’s hard to move on when someone you love dies – especially if that someone is you. But that’s exactly what Cicely Watson is trying to do: move on, away from the sunlit life she knew and into her life as a vampire. It’s the only way to protect her friends, and her only hope of being with the guy she loves. Now that Ander can control the wolf inside him, Cicely is determined they will finally be together – even if their natural instincts tell them to tear each other apart.

But when Ander meets a new girl with a power he can’t resist, Cicely fears she saved his life only to lose his love. And what about her own feelings for Luke Marianez, the handsome vampire prince? She always claimed dark, brooding Luke simply wasn’t her type, but can she still deny the fire between them now that she’s his kind? When the enemy captures someone she loves, Cicely is forced to choose. Can a heart that stopped beating start loving at last? Or will true love be caught in the crossfire?

Here is also a Peak at the First Novel in this YA Series:

Ander McNair used to be the favorite son of a great monster-hunting family – until he was bitten by a werewolf and the hunter became the hunted. Now anything that makes his pulse race, even a kiss from his girlfriend Cicely, is enough to turn him into a monster. When he finally has his chance to earn his cure by killing a vampire prince, Ander finds he has to choose between his own past and the future of the girl he loves. Can a guy who’s not even human learn what it means to be a man?

Luke Marianez used to be an immortal vampire prince – until the witch he loved betrayed him and cursed him with the ability to die. Now he lives in the world of vampire blood bars where the waitresses are the drinks, and dreams about killing the last of the witch’s line so he can live forever. But revenge doesn’t just mean breaking the curse. He wants to break the girl's heart, too. Can Luke seduce Cicely without falling in love himself?
Cicely Watson doesn’t believe in werewolves or vampires. She’s not even sure she believes in true love. But she’s about to discover what every werewolf knows:

People change.

Starcrossed (Starcrossed #1) By Josephine Angelini

Matched (Matched #1)
By Ally Condie

Until I Die (Revenents #2)By Amy Plum

Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) by Kendare Blake

AND...

Die For Me By Amy Plum

It has been a very, very long time since I have bought any books since the beginning of my blog. I know it's depressing but I have got very excited with all the packages coming through my door. I know I have so many series to catch-up on and I have way too many to read. But I went book-shopping Friday and missed it  so much that I went into my local bookstore twice and both times I was in there for a least an hour trying to figure what books to get and I got these. Starcrossed is [part of Read-along that myself and couple of bloggers are doing together in the next couple of weeks and I can't wait to read it! The cover is absolutely gorgeous as well. The Matched series I have seen a lot of brilliant reviews about this and I know Reached is recently coming out soon and I needed to get this book! Now Die for Me and Until I Die by Amy Plum, these are the most beautiful covers I have seen of late and the novel descriptions is absolutely beautiful, I really can't wait to get stuck in these! And lastly, Anna Dressed In Blood, I've been told that I'm one of the last to read this book and I have seen some very interesting reviews about this book, very surreal and has somewhat horror elements to it, which I think I will definitely enjoy!

As you can see the I haven't got any NetGalley books this week, I have started to restrain myself from the requesting loads of novels as I have way too much to read!

A BIG Thank you to Bloomsbury and of course Waterstones!

Soooo, what do you think? Did you receive any these Books? Have you read these? I would like to know what you thought!
Are you taking part? Leave me link, I would love to see what you received this week!

Happy Reading!

"Waiting on" Wednesday (#14)

Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

The Watcher
Title - The Watcher
Author - Lisa Voison
Genre - YA, Paranormal
Publisher - InkSpell Publishing
Release Date - March 4th 2013

Millennia ago, he fell from heaven for her. Can he face her without falling again?

Fascinated with ancient civilizations, seventeen-year-old Mia Crawford dreams of becoming an archaeologist. She also dreams of wings—soft and silent like snow—and somebody trying to steal them.

When a horrible creature appears out of thin air and attacks her, she knows Michael Fontaine is involved, though he claims to know nothing about it. Secretive and aloof, Michael evokes feelings in Mia that she doesn’t understand. Images of another time and place haunt her. She recognizes them—but not from any textbook.

In search of the truth, Mia discovers a past life of forbidden love, jealousy and revenge that tore an angel from Heaven and sent her to an early grave. Now that her soul has returned, does she have a chance at loving that angel again? Or will an age-old nemesis destroy them both?

Ancient history is only the beginning.

This book oddly remind me of the Fallen Series. Just from the first paragraph of the description, I knew I would like this straight away. However in many ways its not as similar, which always good! But by the looks of things it going to be a very rocky yet loving relationship between Mia and Michael. They are my favourite types of relationships in a YA novel, as the love develops so does your love for the book.

Want to join in? Then head over to Jill@Breaking the Spine...
Are you taking part, then leave a me link and I pop over and see what your "Waiting On".

Cover Reveal: Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin

Title - Forever My Cover (The Beaumont Series #1)
Author - Meidi McLaughlin
Genre - Contemporary
Release Date - 27th December 2012
Edition(s) - Paperback/eBook

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

My grandma once told me that I can do anything I want, so I am.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I now live in picturesque Vermont, with my husband and two daughters. Also renting space in our home is an overhyper Beagle/Jack Russell and two Parakeets.

During the day you'll find me behind a desk talking about Land Use. At night, I'm writing one of the many stories I plan to release or sitting courtside during either daughter's basketball games.

I'm also an active reviewer on The Readiacs - a site I own with my best friend and uber special beta, Yvette.

Q: Books are turned into movies all the time! Turn it around. What movie would make a great book?

A: I absolutely love this question... at first it seemed really hard because I like the other way around! Haha!

But my answer will most definitely have to be the Underworld Series! They are the best Horror/Vampire films that I know and I would love to read the books! Celene would make a great heroine in the books and the romance between Michael!

What movie would make a great book? I love to know... Leave your blog's FF link below and I will be sure to 'hop' on over...
